The TRU-MAXX 66253269690 is a Type 1 surface grinding wheel designed for precision flat grinding operations on surface grinders. Measuring 12 inches in diameter and 3/4 inches thick with a 3-inch arbor hole, this wheel is constructed from aluminum oxide abrasive in a vitrified bond matrix. It carries a 60-grit rating for medium-stock removal and is rated at a maximum of 2705 RPM. The I hardness code and grain structure of 5 place it in the soft-to-medium hardness range, making it well suited for grinding harder ferrous materials where wheel breakdown is needed to expose fresh cutting grain. Licensed grinding machine operators and tool-and-die technicians are the typical installers.
This wheel is intended for use on horizontal-spindle reciprocating surface grinders in both job shop and production environments. The vitrified bond provides rigidity and porosity control suited to precision surface grinding of ferrous metals, tool steels, and hardened workpieces. The semi-friable aluminum oxide grain self-sharpens under moderate grinding pressure, maintaining consistent stock removal across extended use cycles. The pink wheel color is characteristic of this aluminum oxide formulation. It is not intended for cutoff, snagging, or portable angle grinder applications.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard production wheel for horizontal-spindle reciprocating surface grinders accepting a 12-inch diameter, 3-inch arbor hole, Type 1 straight wheel configuration.
Surface grinding wheels must be mounted and dressed by a qualified machine operator or toolroom technician following ANSI B7.1 safe-use standards. Power down and lock out the grinder before mounting or removing the wheel. Perform a ring test before installation to check for cracks, and verify that the machine spindle speed does not exceed the wheel maximum of 2705 RPM. Always install proper wheel flanges and blotters as specified by the grinder manufacturer before tightening the arbor nut.
