The TRU-MAXX 66253269561 is a Type 1 surface grinding wheel designed for precision stock removal and surface finishing on ferrous metals. Constructed with aluminum oxide abrasive in a vitrified bond, it delivers consistent cut rates and long wheel life under continuous grinding conditions. The coarse 46 grit and H hardness (soft grade) rating make it well suited for aggressive material removal where surface smoothness is a secondary priority. Rated to 3600 RPM, this wheel measures 7 inches in diameter, 1/2 inch thick, with a 1-1/4 inch arbor hole. It is installed by machinists and tool-and-die professionals working with surface grinders in production and maintenance shop environments.
This wheel is used on horizontal-spindle surface grinders in both production machine shops and general maintenance facilities. The 7-inch diameter fits standard surface grinder spindle setups requiring a Type 1 straight wheel profile. The aluminum oxide grain with a semi-friable character self-sharpens during use, sustaining cut efficiency over the wheel life. The vitrified bond provides rigidity and porosity, supporting coolant flow and heat dissipation during wet or dry grinding operations. Grain structure is rated at 12, and the wheel is white in color for easy identification as an aluminum oxide type.
Designed as a direct-mount Type 1 straight surface grinding wheel for horizontal-spindle surface grinders accepting a 7 inches diameter, 1/2 inch wide wheel with a 1-1/4 inch arbor hole bore.
Surface grinding wheels must be installed by qualified machine operators or toolroom personnel following ANSI B7.1 safe use standards. Always perform a ring test before mounting to check for cracks. Power down and lock out the grinder before changing wheels, and verify the machine spindle speed does not exceed the 3600 RPM rated maximum. Use properly rated flanges and blotters; never exceed the flange diameter limits specified in the grinder manufacturer documentation.
