The TRU-MAXX 66253255862 is a Type 1 straight surface grinding wheel designed for precision stock removal and finish grinding on ferrous metals. Built with aluminum oxide abrasive and a vitrified bond, it delivers consistent cutting action and good form retention during surface grinding operations. The wheel measures 10 inches in diameter, 1 inch thick, with a 3-inch arbor hole, and is rated to a maximum of 3,250 RPM. At I hardness with a grain structure of 5, it sits in the medium-soft range, making it well-suited for harder workpiece materials where a softer wheel promotes continuous self-sharpening. Licensed machinists, tool-and-die makers, and grinding technicians are the primary installers of this product.
This wheel is intended for use on horizontal-spindle surface grinders in tool rooms, maintenance shops, and light manufacturing environments. The 10-inch diameter and 3-inch bore fit a wide range of production and bench-type surface grinders equipped with flanged spindles of that size. The vitrified bond resists heat buildup and maintains wheel geometry under moderate to heavy material removal on carbon steel, alloy steel, and similar ferrous workpieces. The non-porous, semi-friable aluminum oxide grain breaks down progressively to expose fresh cutting edges throughout the wheel life.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard consumable for horizontal-spindle surface grinders accepting a 10-inch diameter, 1-inch wide, 3-inch arbor hole Type 1 straight wheel. Confirm spindle speed does not exceed 3,250 RPM before mounting.
Mounting and dressing of grinding wheels should be performed by qualified personnel following ANSI B11.9 and OSHA 29 CFR 1910.215 standards. Always perform a ring test before mounting to check for cracks, and ensure the spindle speed does not exceed the 3,250 RPM maximum marked on the wheel. Use proper flanges and a blotter on each side of the wheel; never apply excessive clamping force. Dress the wheel with an appropriate diamond dresser after mounting and before use to true the face and expose fresh abrasive.
