The TRU-MAXX 66253255832 is a Type 1 surface grinding wheel designed for precision stock removal and surface finishing on ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Built with aluminum oxide abrasive grain and a vitrified bond, this wheel delivers consistent cut rates and free-cutting action across a wide range of surface grinding applications. It measures 8 inches in diameter, 1/2 inch thick, and carries a 1-1/4 inch arbor hole. The 80 grit, H hardness (soft grade) specification makes it well suited for medium-finish work where controlled material removal is the priority. Rated to 3600 RPM maximum operating speed, the wheel meets standard surface grinder spindle requirements for this diameter class.
This wheel is intended for use on horizontal-spindle surface grinders in tool rooms, maintenance shops, and production environments. The aluminum oxide grain and vitrified bond combination performs reliably on tool steels, carbon steels, and similar materials. The semi-friable grain structure allows the wheel to self-dress to a degree, maintaining a sharp cutting face during extended use. Machinists, tool grinders, and maintenance technicians are the typical installers and users of this wheel type. It is suited for applications requiring a medium-grade finish with consistent dimensional results pass to pass.
Designed as a direct-mount replacement or standard Type 1 grinding wheel for horizontal-spindle surface grinders accepting an 8-inch diameter wheel with a 1-1/4 inch arbor hole and 1/2 inch face width.
Installation and wheel changes must be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician following ANSI B7.1 safety guidelines for abrasive wheels. Always de-energize and lock out the grinder before removing or mounting a wheel. Inspect the wheel for cracks or chips before mounting and perform a ring test — a cracked wheel must never be used. Do not exceed the 3600 RPM maximum operating speed marked on the wheel, and always dress the wheel with an appropriate diamond dresser before the first grinding pass.
