The TRU-MAXX 66253255829 is a Type 1 surface grinding wheel engineered for precision stock removal and surface finishing on ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces. Built with aluminum oxide abrasive and a vitrified bond, this wheel delivers consistent cut rates and maintains its form across extended grinding cycles. The 60 grit rating and K hardness code place it in medium territory, making it a practical choice for general-purpose surface grinding where a balance of material removal and surface finish is required. Rated to 3600 RPM, it is sized at 8 inches in diameter and 0.5 inches thick with a 1.25-inch arbor hole. Machinists, tool-and-die technicians, and maintenance grinders are the typical installers.
This wheel fits standard surface grinders used in production machining, tool rooms, and maintenance shops. The 8-inch diameter and 1.25-inch arbor hole suit a wide range of horizontal-spindle reciprocating and rotary surface grinders. The semi-friable aluminum oxide grain and vitrified bond make it well suited for grinding hardened steels, tool steels, and similar ferrous alloys where controlled heat generation and consistent finish are priorities. The non-porous, no-recess Type 1 profile is a common configuration for surface grinding applications requiring flat wheel face contact.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement for standard 8-inch diameter, 0.5-inch thick, 1.25-inch arbor hole Type 1 surface grinding wheels on horizontal and vertical spindle surface grinders accepting this wheel size and RPM rating.
Grinding wheel mounting must be performed by a qualified machinist or grinder operator in accordance with ANSI B11.9 and the grinder manufacturer's safety guidelines. Before mounting, ring-test the wheel for cracks and confirm the machine spindle speed does not exceed the 3600 RPM maximum stamped on the wheel. Always use proper flanges and blotters, and never exceed the rated arbor diameter of 1.25 inches. Allow the wheel to run at operating speed in a guarded position for at least one minute before bringing it into contact with a workpiece.
