The TRU-MAXX 66253255649 is a Type 1 straight surface grinding wheel engineered for precision stock removal and fine finishing on ferrous metals. Built with aluminum oxide abrasive and a vitrified bond, it delivers consistent cutting action and thermal stability under sustained grinding pressure. At 120 grit with a J hardness code and medium hardness rating, this wheel is suited for fine-grade surface grinding where dimensional accuracy and surface finish are priorities. It spins to a maximum of 3,600 RPM and weighs 1 pound. Machinists and tool-and-die technicians use this wheel on surface grinders in job shop and production environments.
This wheel fits standard surface grinders and compatible bench or pedestal grinding setups accepting a 7-inch diameter, 1/4-inch thick, Type 1 straight wheel with a 1-1/4-inch arbor hole. The aluminum oxide grain and vitrified bond make it appropriate for grinding hardened steels, tool steels, and similar ferrous workpieces. The fine 120-grit rating is well suited to finish passes where low stock removal and tight surface tolerances are required. The semi-friable grain structure supports controlled wheel breakdown, helping maintain a consistent cutting edge throughout the wheel's life.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement for Type 1 straight surface grinding wheels with a 7-inch diameter, 1/4-inch thickness, and 1-1/4-inch arbor hole on compatible surface grinders and bench grinders.
Wheel mounting and dressing should be performed by a qualified machinist or grinding technician. Before mounting, inspect the wheel for cracks using a ring test — do not install a cracked or chipped wheel. Ensure the spindle speed of the machine does not exceed the 3,600 RPM maximum rating marked on the wheel. Follow ANSI B11.9 and applicable shop safety standards when mounting, guarding, and operating grinding wheels.
