The TRU-MAXX 66253255645 is a Type 1 surface grinding wheel designed for precision stock removal and surface finishing on ferrous metals. Built with aluminum oxide abrasive and a vitrified bond, this wheel delivers consistent cut rates and good form-holding across a range of surface grinding applications. At 7 inches in diameter, 1/4 inch thick, and with a 1-1/4 inch arbor hole, it mounts directly to standard surface grinders. The 100 grit, fine grade, I-hardness (soft) rating makes it well suited for finishing passes where controlled material removal and surface quality are the priority. Rated to 3600 RPM maximum. Weight is 1 pound.
This wheel is used in surface grinding operations on tool steel, carbon steel, and other ferrous workpieces in machine shops, maintenance facilities, and production environments. The semi-friable aluminum oxide grain and vitrified bond work together to self-dress at a controlled rate, keeping the wheel open and cutting freely during fine finishing work. Machinists and tool grinders reach for this spec when they need a consistent finish without aggressive loading. The non-porous, non-tapered, no-recess Type 1 flat wheel profile fits the widest range of horizontal and vertical spindle surface grinder setups.
Designed as a standard Type 1 flat surface grinding wheel for use on horizontal and vertical spindle surface grinders accepting a 7 inch diameter wheel with a 1-1/4 inch arbor hole.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or grinding equipment operator following ANSI B7.1 safe use standards for abrasive wheels. Always inspect the wheel for cracks or chips before mounting and perform a ring test per ANSI guidelines. Power down and lock out the grinder before mounting or removing any wheel. Never exceed the maximum operating speed of 3600 RPM stamped on the wheel blotter.
