The TRU-MAXX 66253255643 is a Type 1 straight surface grinding wheel designed for precision stock removal and surface finishing on ferrous metals. It uses an aluminum oxide abrasive grain bonded with a vitrified bond system, producing a consistent, open-cutting action suited to surface grinder applications. At 100 grit with an H hardness rating, this wheel falls in the fine grade range, making it well-suited for finishing passes where surface finish quality matters as much as material removal rate. The vitrified bond resists heat and coolant, which helps maintain wheel integrity during wet or dry grinding operations. Rated at a maximum of 3600 RPM, it is sized for use on standard surface grinders found in machine shops and toolrooms.
This wheel is intended for use on horizontal-spindle surface grinders in toolroom, maintenance, and production grinding applications. The 7-inch diameter, 1/4-inch thickness, and 1-1/4-inch arbor hole fit common surface grinder spindle configurations. The pink aluminum oxide grain and semi-friable structure make it particularly effective when working with tool steels and hardened alloy steels where controlled stock removal and surface integrity are priorities. Machinists and tool grinders are the primary installers and operators of this wheel.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard consumable for horizontal-spindle surface grinders accepting a 7-inch diameter, 1/4-inch thick, Type 1 wheel with a 1-1/4-inch arbor hole.
Grinding wheel mounting should be performed by qualified machinists or toolroom personnel following ANSI B7.1 safety standards. Always inspect the wheel for cracks or chips using the ring test before mounting, and never exceed the maximum rated speed of 3600 RPM. Ensure the spindle arbor and flanges are clean and free of debris before seating the wheel, and use proper blotter pads between the flanges and the wheel faces. Power down and lock out the machine before any wheel change.
