The TRU-MAXX 66253255613 is a Type 1 surface grinding wheel designed for precision flat grinding on surface grinders in metalworking and toolroom environments. It is constructed from aluminum oxide abrasive bonded with a vitrified bond, producing a white, non-porous wheel with a semi-friable grain that fractures cleanly to expose fresh cutting edges. At 100 grit with a J hardness code and a grain structure rating of 6, this wheel falls in the fine-grade range and is suited for finish passes and close-tolerance stock removal on ferrous metals. The specification code 28A100J6V31 defines the full wheel designation for sourcing and verification. Licensed machinists, toolroom grinders, and precision metal fabricators are the primary installers and operators.
This wheel fits surface grinders that accept a 7-inch diameter, 1/2-inch thick Type 1 straight wheel with a 1-1/4-inch arbor hole. It is appropriate for residential machine shops, production toolrooms, and light industrial settings where fine surface finishes on steel and similar ferrous materials are required. The vitrified bond provides rigidity and good form-holding under consistent feed rates, making it well-suited for surface grinding applications where dimensional accuracy and finish quality matter. No recess is present, confirming flat-face use on standard surface grinder spindles.
Designed as a direct-fit Type 1 surface grinding wheel for grinders accepting a 7-inch diameter, 1/2-inch thick wheel with a 1-1/4-inch arbor hole running at or below 3600 RPM.
Surface grinding wheels must be installed by qualified personnel following ANSI B7.1 safety standards for the use, care, and protection of abrasive wheels. Before mounting, ring-test the wheel for cracks and verify that the machine spindle speed does not exceed the 3600 RPM maximum marked on the wheel. Power down and lock out the grinder before changing wheels. Never exceed the rated maximum speed, and always dress the wheel before first use to ensure true running and proper face geometry.
