The TRU-MAXX 66253255612 is a Type 1 surface grinding wheel designed for precision flat stock and surface grinding operations on ferrous and semi-ferrous materials. Built with an aluminum oxide abrasive grain and a vitrified bond, this wheel delivers consistent stock removal with good form-holding capability. At 60 grit with a K hardness rating, it falls in the medium-hard range, making it well suited for moderate material removal on hardened steels and cast iron. The semi-friable grain structure supports controlled breakdown and continuous sharp cutting edges throughout the wheel life. At 2 pounds, it is manageable for standard bench or surface grinder setups.
This wheel is intended for use on horizontal spindle surface grinders in toolroom, maintenance, and production grinding environments. The 8 inch diameter, 1/2 inch face width, and 1-1/4 inch arbor hole fit a common class of bench-mount and reciprocating-table surface grinders found in machine shops and industrial maintenance facilities. The pink wheel color is consistent with aluminum oxide wheels formulated for tool steel and similar applications. Installation and use are typical for trade machinists and tool-and-die professionals performing flat surface work.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or standard-stock wheel for horizontal spindle surface grinders accepting an 8 inch diameter, 1/2 inch thick, Type 1 wheel with a 1-1/4 inch arbor hole.
Surface grinding wheels must be installed and dressed by a qualified machinist or tool-room technician familiar with ANSI B11.9 grinder safety standards. Always power down and lock out the grinder before mounting or removing a wheel. Inspect the wheel for cracks or chips using the ring test before installation, and never exceed the maximum operating speed of 3600 RPM printed on the wheel blotter. Use proper flanges and a paper blotter on each side of the wheel; never force the arbor hole or over-tighten the mounting hardware.
