The TRU-MAXX 66253255602 is a Type 1 surface grinding wheel engineered for precision stock removal on surface grinders in industrial and tool room environments. At 12 inches in diameter and 1-1/2 inches thick with a 5-inch arbor hole, this wheel mounts on compatible horizontal-spindle surface grinders and delivers consistent, repeatable results. The aluminum oxide abrasive grain at 46 grit provides aggressive, coarse-grade cutting action suited for rapid material removal on ferrous metals and general-purpose shop applications. Vitrified bond construction gives the wheel the rigidity and porosity needed to maintain form and allow coolant penetration during wet or dry grinding operations.
This grinding wheel is intended for use on horizontal-spindle, reciprocating-table surface grinders in production machine shops, tool and die shops, and maintenance facilities. It is appropriate for grinding carbon steel, alloy steel, and similar ferrous workpieces where coarse stock removal is the primary objective. The H hardness rating and grain structure designation 5 make this wheel well suited for harder materials that benefit from a softer-grade wheel that releases dull grains efficiently, keeping the wheel free-cutting throughout the grind cycle. The wheel color is pink, consistent with aluminum oxide formulations in this hardness and grit range.
Designed for use on horizontal-spindle surface grinders that accept a 5-inch arbor hole and can accommodate a 12-inch diameter Type 1 straight wheel operating at or below 2070 RPM.
Grinding wheel mounting must be performed by a qualified machine operator or tool room technician following ANSI B11.9 and OSHA 29 CFR 1910.215 standards for abrasive wheel machinery. Always power down and lock out the grinder before mounting or removing wheels. Inspect the wheel for cracks or chips before installation using the ring test, and never exceed the maximum RPM stamped on the wheel or listed in the specifications. Flanges and blotters must be clean, flat, and of the correct diameter for this wheel size before tightening.
