The TRU-MAXX 66253255485 is a Type 1 straight surface grinding wheel designed for precision stock removal and finish grinding on ferrous metals and tool steel. Constructed from white aluminum oxide abrasive with a vitrified bond, it delivers consistent, controlled cutting action at a J hardness rating and medium grain structure (grade 6). The wheel measures 7 inches in diameter, 1/4 inch thick, with a 1-1/4 inch arbor hole, and is rated to a maximum of 3600 RPM. The semi-friable grain sheds dull abrasive particles to expose fresh cutting edges throughout the wheel life. Specification code 28A120J6V31 confirms the abrasive type, grit, hardness, structure, and bond for traceability to OEM and MRO procurement standards.
This wheel is suited for surface grinders in machine shops, tool rooms, and maintenance grinding applications. The fine 120-grit cut produces smooth surface finishes on hardened steel, tool steel, and similar workpieces where close tolerances and low surface roughness are required. The vitrified bond provides rigidity and thermal resistance, making it appropriate for wet or dry surface grinding operations where coolant is applied. Machinists, toolmakers, and maintenance technicians are the typical installers and operators of this wheel type.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard consumable for horizontal-spindle surface grinders accepting a Type 1 straight wheel with a 7-inch diameter, 1/4-inch thickness, and 1-1/4-inch arbor hole bored to a maximum operating speed of 3600 RPM.
Grinding wheel installation must be performed by a qualified operator following ANSI B11.9 and OSHA 29 CFR 1910.215 guarding requirements. Always perform a ring test before mounting to check for cracks, and confirm the machine spindle speed does not exceed the 3600 RPM rating marked on the wheel. Mount with proper flanges and blotters, tighten the arbor nut to snug only, and dress the wheel with a suitable diamond dresser before the first use. Never use a wheel that has been dropped or shows visible damage.
