The TRU-MAXX 66253255248 is a Type 1 bench and pedestal grinding wheel designed for aggressive material removal on stationary grinders. Built from aluminum oxide abrasive with a vitrified bond, this 12-inch diameter wheel delivers consistent cutting action on ferrous metals, tool steel, and general-purpose shop work. At 46 grit with a coarse grade and medium hardness rating (P), it is suited for heavy stock removal rather than finishing passes. The semi-friable grain structure allows the wheel to self-sharpen during use, maintaining cut rate over the wheel's service life. Rated to a maximum of 2705 RPM, it fits standard bench and pedestal grinder spindles with a 1-1/4-inch arbor hole.
This wheel is a common choice in machine shops, maintenance facilities, fabrication shops, and tool rooms where a large-diameter grinding wheel is needed for high-volume material removal. The 12-inch diameter and 1-1/2-inch face width provide a substantial grinding surface for workpieces that smaller wheels cannot efficiently handle. It is installed and used by machinists, maintenance technicians, fabricators, and tool-and-die professionals on heavy-duty bench or pedestal grinders.
Designed for use on bench and pedestal grinders accepting a Type 1 straight wheel with a 1-1/4-inch arbor hole and a 12-inch diameter. No bushing is included; verify spindle arbor size before installation.
Bench and pedestal grinding wheels must be installed by a qualified technician following ANSI B7.1 safety standards for the use, care, and protection of abrasive wheels. Always power down and lock out the grinder before mounting or removing a wheel. Perform a ring test by tapping the wheel lightly with a non-metallic mallet before installation — a clear ring indicates the wheel is free of cracks; a dull thud indicates the wheel should not be used. Never exceed the 2705 RPM maximum speed rating stamped on the wheel, and always use the appropriate wheel guards.
