The TRU-MAXX 66253255220 is a Type 1 bench and pedestal grinding wheel designed for general-purpose material removal and tool sharpening on stationary bench grinders and pedestal grinders. The wheel measures 8 inches in diameter by 3/4 inches thick with a 1-inch arbor hole. It is made from aluminum oxide abrasive bonded in a vitrified bond system, producing a consistent, controlled cut. At 60 grit with a medium grade and an O hardness rating, it suits a wide range of ferrous metal grinding tasks including sharpening lathe tools, drill bits, and hand tools. Licensed machinists, maintenance technicians, and toolroom professionals are the primary installers and users.
This wheel is used in toolroom, maintenance shop, and production grinding applications where a general-purpose aluminum oxide wheel is appropriate. The vitrified bond and semi-friable grain structure make it well suited for grinding high-speed steel, carbon steel, and similar ferrous materials. The gray aluminum oxide formulation with a grain structure rating of 6 and non-porous construction supports steady stock removal without loading under normal shop conditions. It fits standard 8-inch bench grinders and pedestal grinders with a 1-inch arbor.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement for standard 8-inch bench and pedestal grinder applications requiring a 1-inch arbor hole and Type 1 straight wheel geometry.
Grinding wheel installation and dressing should be performed by qualified personnel following ANSI B7.1 safety standards for the use, care, and protection of abrasive wheels. Before mounting, power down and lock out the grinder completely. Inspect the wheel for cracks or chips using the ring test before mounting, and never exceed the 3600 RPM maximum speed rating stamped on the wheel. Always install the supplied paper blotters between the wheel and flanges and use a properly fitted arbor bushing if the machine spindle diameter is smaller than 1 inch.
