The TRU-MAXX 66253255099 is a Type 1 straight bench and pedestal grinding wheel designed for sharpening, deburring, and light stock removal on metal workpieces. Built with aluminum oxide abrasive and a vitrified bond, it delivers consistent cutting action across a range of ferrous metals. At 6 inches in diameter and 3/4 inches thick with a 1 inch arbor hole, this wheel fits standard 6 inch bench grinders. The 80 grit, medium grade specification makes it well suited for general-purpose tool maintenance and edge reconditioning. Maximum operating speed is rated at 5,410 RPM. The semi-friable grain structure allows the wheel to self-dress moderately during use, maintaining a reasonably open cutting face without rapid breakdown.
This grinding wheel is intended for use on bench grinders and pedestal grinders commonly found in maintenance shops, fabrication facilities, tool rooms, and trade service vehicles. It handles everyday sharpening tasks on drill bits, chisels, punches, and hand tools. The gray aluminum oxide composition is appropriate for carbon steel and general-purpose alloy steel workpieces. Machinists, maintenance technicians, HVAC technicians, plumbers, and electricians maintaining their own tooling will find the 80 grit medium grade a practical everyday choice for keeping cutting edges serviceable.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or service wheel for standard 6 inch bench grinders and pedestal grinders accepting a 1 inch arbor hole. No bushing is included with this wheel.
Installation should be performed by a qualified technician following the grinder manufacturer instructions and applicable ANSI B11.9 safety standards for bench grinders. Always power down and unplug the grinder before mounting or removing a wheel. Inspect the wheel for cracks or chips using the ring test before installation, and never exceed the 5,410 RPM maximum operating speed marked on the wheel. Ensure flanges are clean, properly sized, and blotters are in place before tightening the arbor nut.
