The TRU-MAXX 66253246693 is a Type 1 surface grinding wheel designed for precision stock removal and surface finishing on a range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Made from silicon carbide abrasive with a vitrified bond, this wheel delivers consistent cut rate and controlled wear throughout its service life. It measures 7 inches in diameter, 1/2 inch thick, with a 1-1/4 inch arbor hole. Rated for a maximum of 3600 RPM, it carries an I hardness code and a medium grade classification. The green silicon carbide composition makes it well suited for grinding hard, brittle materials where a free-cutting, cool-running wheel is needed. It weighs 2.86 pounds.
This wheel is used in surface grinding applications on bench grinders and surface grinders in machine shops, maintenance facilities, and production environments. The non-porous, vitrified bond construction holds abrasive grains firmly while allowing for dressing to restore a true cutting face. It is appropriate for professional machinists, tool-and-die workers, and maintenance technicians performing precision flat-surface grinding or tool reconditioning work. The Type 1 straight wheel profile is the most common format for horizontal spindle surface grinding setups.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit grinding wheel for surface grinders and bench grinders accepting a Type 1 straight wheel with a 1-1/4 inch arbor hole and a 7 inch diameter.
Grinding wheel mounting and dressing must be performed by a qualified machinist or maintenance technician in accordance with ANSI B11.9 and applicable shop safety codes. Before mounting, inspect the wheel for cracks or chips using the ring test. Power down and lock out the grinder before removing or installing any wheel. Never exceed the maximum rated RPM of 3600 stamped on the wheel or stated in documentation, and always use the appropriate flange hardware and blotter pads for secure, centered mounting.
