The TRU-MAXX 66253246692 is a Type 1 surface grinding wheel designed for precision stock removal and surface finishing on hard, brittle, and non-ferrous materials. Built with silicon carbide abrasive and a vitrified bond, this wheel delivers consistent cut rates and thermal stability under sustained grinding loads. At 7 inches in diameter and 1/2 inch thick, it fits standard surface grinders and bench grinders equipped with a 1-1/4 inch arbor. The I hardness rating and 60 grit classification place it in the medium-grade range, suited for moderate material removal without excessive workpiece heat buildup. Rated to 3600 RPM maximum, it is installed and operated by machinists, tool and die professionals, and maintenance technicians.
This wheel is appropriate for surface grinding applications involving ceramics, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, carbide tooling, and similar hard or brittle workpiece materials where silicon carbide abrasive outperforms aluminum oxide alternatives. The vitrified bond provides rigidity and consistent porosity control, making it a common choice in production grinding cells and toolroom environments. The non-porous structure supports free-cutting action and dimensional stability throughout the wheel life. It ships as a single unit and is intended for use on horizontal spindle surface grinders and compatible bench grinder setups accepting a 1-1/4 inch hole mount.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard-fit surface grinding wheel for horizontal spindle surface grinders and bench grinders accepting a 7 inch diameter, 1/2 inch wide, Type 1 wheel with a 1-1/4 inch arbor hole.
Surface grinding wheels must be installed by qualified machinists or maintenance personnel following ANSI B7.1 safe use guidelines. Before mounting, power down and lock out the grinder completely, then ring-test the wheel for cracks before installation. Never exceed the 3600 RPM maximum speed rating marked on the wheel. Ensure the machine spindle speed is verified against the wheel rating before resuming operation.
