The TRIPP LITE U026-20M is a USB 2.0 active extension cable designed to extend a USB connection up to 20 meters (approximately 65.6 feet) beyond the standard cable length limit. Active repeater circuitry built into the cable amplifies and regenerates the signal, maintaining reliable data transfer over the extended run. This cable is used in AV, IT, and facility environments where USB peripherals must be located at a significant distance from the host device. Installation is handled by AV integrators, IT technicians, and facilities professionals.
This extension cable suits installations where USB keyboards, mice, webcams, card readers, or similar low-power peripherals need to be positioned far from a desktop or rack-mounted host. It is well suited for conference rooms, trade-show displays, kiosk applications, and industrial workstations where running a single long USB cable is preferred over a hub-based topology. The active repeater design eliminates the need for an external power supply in most standard USB 2.0 host configurations.
Designed as an active USB 2.0 extension cable for use with USB 2.0 host ports and USB 2.0 or USB 1.1 peripherals in standard desktop, laptop, and rack-mounted system installations.
Connect the cable's Type-A plug to an available USB 2.0 host port and attach the peripheral to the Type-A receptacle at the far end. No driver installation is required under most modern operating systems. Avoid routing the cable in parallel with high-voltage power runs to reduce interference risk. Verify the host port can supply adequate bus power before connecting bus-powered peripherals at the remote end.
