The TRIPP LITE P024-015-13A is a heavy-duty power cord extension cable designed to extend the reach of equipment power connections in enterprise, data center, and commercial electrical installations. Built on 16 AWG wire, it is rated for 13 amps of continuous current and stretches 15 feet to bridge the gap between a power distribution unit or surge protector and the connected load. Electricians and data center technicians install this cable where fixed cord length on equipment falls short of the nearest PDU or wall outlet. The 16 AWG gauge supports the 13A rating without excessive voltage drop over the 15-foot run.
This extension cable is suited for use in enterprise server rooms, network equipment racks, point-of-sale setups, and commercial office environments where power distribution units and surge protection strips are the primary power source. It is a direct-connect extension solution, not a surge protector or power conditioner on its own. Installers use it to route power from a PDU outlet to a device that cannot reach the PDU directly, keeping cable management clean and reducing strain on device-side power inlets.
Designed as a standard replacement or supplemental extension cable for enterprise power distribution and surge protection equipment installations where a 13A, 16 AWG cord extension is required.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician or qualified data center technician in accordance with applicable NEC guidelines. De-energize the PDU outlet or power strip before connecting or disconnecting this cable. Do not exceed the 13A current rating of the cable, and verify that the combined load of all equipment on the circuit does not surpass the branch circuit breaker rating. Avoid running the cable through walls, ceilings, or conduit, as it is not rated for in-wall use.
