The TRERICE 76-4G2 is a stepped shank thermowell designed to protect bimetal thermometers and temperature sensors installed in fluid systems. The stepped shank profile provides a secure, rigid mount while reducing material contact with the process fluid. The stem measures 4 inches in total length with a 2.5 inch insertion length, positioning the sensor at the correct depth within the pipe or vessel. The 3/4 inch NPT threaded connection allows for straightforward installation into standard pipe fittings. Constructed from brass, this thermowell suits a wide range of liquid and low-pressure applications where corrosion resistance and ease of machining matter. Licensed HVAC technicians, plumbers, and instrumentation technicians are the primary installers.
This thermowell is intended for use with bimetal thermometers and compatible temperature sensors in residential and light commercial hydronic, plumbing, and HVAC systems. The 2.5 inch insertion length is suited for smaller pipe diameters where full-bore sensor exposure is needed without bottoming out. The brass construction performs well in water, glycol, and mild fluid systems. The 3/4 inch NPT thread is a common size found in standard pipe headers, tees, and thermowell bosses across plumbing and heating applications.
Designed for use with bimetal thermometers and temperature sensors. Suitable as an OEM-style thermowell fitting in standard 3/4 inch NPT ports on hydronic, plumbing, and HVAC piping systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or HVAC technician following applicable local codes and IFGC or IPC guidelines where relevant. Shut down and depressurize the system and allow fluid to cool before removing or installing any thermowell. Apply appropriate thread sealant to the NPT threads and tighten to the fitting manufacturer's specification using a wrench on the hex body — do not apply torque through the sensor or instrument head. Verify insertion depth clears the opposite pipe wall before final installation.
