The TRENDNET TPE-219GI is a single-port 2.5G PoE++ injector designed to deliver both data and high-wattage power over a single Ethernet cable to connected devices. It operates at 2.5 Gigabit speeds and supports the PoE++ (802.3bt) standard, making it suitable for powering demanding devices such as wireless access points, PTZ cameras, and multi-radio units that require higher power budgets than standard PoE or PoE+ can provide. Network technicians and low-voltage installers use this injector to add PoE++ capability to an existing non-PoE switch without replacing switching infrastructure.
The TPE-219GI fits residential and commercial network installations where a single device requires powered Ethernet at 2.5G link speeds. It is a midspan injector, meaning it is installed inline between a network switch and the powered device. Typical applications include upgrading access point feeds, powering high-end IP cameras, and supporting devices with 2.5GbE uplinks in environments where a full PoE++ switch is not practical or cost-effective.
Designed as an OEM-style midspan PoE++ injector compatible with 802.3bt-compliant powered devices connected via standard RJ45 Ethernet cabling at 2.5G link speeds.
Installation is performed by a licensed low-voltage or network technician. Power down or unplug the injector before connecting or disconnecting Ethernet cables to avoid port damage. The injector is placed inline on the network cable run between the upstream switch port and the powered device. Ensure the cable plant meets Cat5e or better standards to support 2.5G link speeds and PoE++ power delivery per TIA-568 guidelines.
