The TRENDNET TPE-147GI is a 4-port gigabit Power over Ethernet Plus injector rated at 65 watts total output. It adds PoE+ power delivery to an existing non-PoE network switch without requiring switch replacement. Each port supports IEEE 802.3at PoE+ standard, supplying both data and DC power over a single Ethernet cable. Network technicians and IT infrastructure installers use this device to power access points, IP cameras, VoIP phones, and other PoE-compatible devices. The injector sits inline between the upstream switch and the powered devices, requiring no dedicated power injector per port.
The TPE-147GI is suited for small to medium-sized network deployments in commercial and light industrial environments. Typical installations include wireless access point rollouts, IP surveillance systems, and VoIP infrastructure where the existing switching infrastructure lacks onboard PoE capability. The unit handles up to 4 gigabit data and power connections simultaneously, making it practical for localized equipment clusters such as a conference room, entryway camera array, or small office network drop.
Designed as a plug-in PoE+ injector compatible with any IEEE 802.3at or 802.3af powered device connected over standard Cat5e or Cat6 Ethernet cabling.
Installation is typically performed by a network technician or IT professional. Connect the data-in ports to the upstream non-PoE switch and the data-out ports to the powered devices using standard RJ45 patch cables. Power down connected devices before disconnecting or reseating cables to avoid unexpected reboots. Ensure total connected device power draw does not exceed the 65-watt budget of the injector.
