Trendnet TEW-840APBO Outdoor AC867 14 Dbi Poe Access Point

Product Description

The TRENDNET TEW-840APBO is an outdoor-rated directional wireless access point built for long-range Wi-Fi deployments in demanding environments. Operating on the 802.11ac standard with a combined throughput of 867 Mbps, this unit integrates a 14 dBi directional antenna to concentrate signal over extended distances. Power is delivered over Ethernet via PoE, eliminating the need for a separate power run to the mounting location. This unit is suited for installation by network technicians and licensed low-voltage contractors working on outdoor wireless infrastructure projects.

This access point is designed for outdoor point-to-point or point-to-multipoint deployments where a focused, high-gain signal is required. Typical applications include campus networks, warehouse yards, parking facilities, and building-to-building wireless links. The directional antenna pattern helps reduce interference from off-axis sources, making it practical in environments with moderate RF congestion. PoE compatibility simplifies cable runs where AC power is not accessible at the mounting point.

Installation Notes

Installation should be performed by a qualified low-voltage or network technician familiar with outdoor wireless equipment and applicable local codes. Power down the PoE injector or switch port before making or breaking the Ethernet connection at the unit. Ensure the mounting surface and hardware are rated for the environmental load at the installation site. Weatherproof all cable entry points per standard outdoor low-voltage installation practice.
