The TRANSITION NETWORKS TN-SFP-OC3S8-C37 is a small form-factor pluggable (SFP) optical transceiver designed for OC3 and Fast Ethernet applications using Coarse Wavelength Division Multiplexing (CWDM) technology. This module plugs into an SFP-compatible port on a switch, router, or media converter and converts electrical signals to optical signals for transmission over fiber. Network technicians and systems integrators install this transceiver in enterprise and carrier-class network equipment where CWDM fiber infrastructure is in use. The CWDM design allows multiple wavelengths to share a single fiber strand, making it well suited for expanding network capacity without additional fiber runs.
This transceiver is used in enterprise networking environments where OC3 SONET or Fast Ethernet connectivity is required over CWDM fiber links. Typical installation scenarios include data center interconnects, campus backbone infrastructure, and service provider edge deployments. It is sold as a single unit and is intended for professional installation by qualified network technicians familiar with fiber optic cabling and SFP module handling procedures.
Designed for use in SFP-compatible network switches, routers, and media converters that support OC3 or Fast Ethernet optical interfaces with CWDM wavelength operation.
Installation should be performed by a qualified network technician familiar with fiber optic handling procedures. Power down or administratively disable the host port before inserting or removing the SFP module to prevent damage to the transceiver or host equipment. Handle the module by its body and avoid touching the optical interfaces. Clean fiber connectors before mating to prevent signal loss caused by contamination.
