The TRANSITION NETWORKS TN-SFP-GE-Z-C is a small form-factor pluggable (SFP) transceiver module designed for 1000BASE-ZX Gigabit Ethernet applications. Operating at 1.25 Gbps over a 1550nm wavelength, this module is built for long-reach single-mode fiber (SMF) links. It slides into a standard SFP slot on a compatible switch, router, or media converter, providing a fiber uplink without requiring a dedicated fixed-port device. Network technicians and data communications installers use this module to extend fiber runs where shorter-wavelength SFPs would fall short.
The TN-SFP-GE-Z-C is suited for enterprise, campus, and service provider network environments where long-distance fiber connectivity is required. The 1000BASE-ZX standard targets extended single-mode fiber runs, making this transceiver appropriate for building-to-building backbones, wide-area aggregation links, and similar infrastructure deployments. It is installed in SFP-capable switches and routers found in both telecommunications closets and data center environments.
Designed as an OEM-style SFP transceiver for use in switches, routers, and media converters with standard SFP slots supporting the 1000BASE-ZX specification over single-mode fiber.
Installation is performed by qualified network technicians familiar with fiber handling and SFP module procedures. Before inserting or removing the module, follow the host device manufacturer guidance on hot-swap procedures and always handle fiber connectors with care to avoid contamination. Clean fiber end-faces with an appropriate fiber optic cleaning tool prior to connection. Verify that the paired remote transceiver also operates at 1550nm and the same data rate to ensure a functional link.
