The TRANSITION NETWORKS TN-GLC-LH-SM is a Small Form-factor Pluggable (SFP) transceiver module designed for 100BASE-LX single-mode fiber applications. It uses an LC connector interface and supports link distances up to 10 kilometers, making it well suited for extended-reach fiber runs in structured cabling and network infrastructure deployments. This transceiver drops into SFP-compatible slots on managed switches, media converters, and similar network equipment. Network technicians and low-voltage cabling professionals are the primary installers. The single-mode design reduces modal dispersion and supports the longer distances required in campus, industrial, and building-to-building backbone connections.
The TN-GLC-LH-SM is intended for use in fiber optic network segments that require reliable single-mode transmission at Fast Ethernet speeds. Typical applications include inter-building backbone links, industrial Ethernet runs, and media converter deployments where extended fiber reach beyond the 2 kilometer multimode limit is required. It is sold as a single unit and is categorized within the media converters product family.
Designed as an OEM-style SFP transceiver for use in standard SFP-slot-equipped network switches, routers, and media converters supporting 100BASE-LX single-mode fiber operation.
Installation should be performed by a qualified low-voltage network technician. Power down or disable the SFP port before inserting or removing the transceiver module to prevent damage to the host equipment. Use clean, dust-capped LC fiber patch cables and inspect fiber end-faces before mating. Follow TIA-568 and applicable local codes for structured cabling work.
