The TRANE SWT01719 is a high-pressure cutout switch designed for use in HVAC refrigerant circuits. It opens at 405 psi and closes at 300 psi, providing automatic high-side pressure protection for the compressor and refrigerant system. When refrigerant pressure rises beyond the 405 psi threshold, the switch interrupts the control circuit, stopping compressor operation before damage occurs. Once pressure drops back to 300 psi, the switch resets and allows normal operation to resume. This type of pressure control is a standard safety component in split systems, package units, and light commercial refrigeration equipment. Installation is typically performed by a licensed HVAC technician.
The SWT01719 is used in Trane HVAC central air systems as part of the high-side refrigerant pressure safety circuit. It is positioned on the high-pressure side of the refrigerant loop, typically near the compressor discharge line or liquid line service valve area. This switch protects the system from conditions such as condenser coil restriction, overcharge, or loss of condenser airflow that would cause abnormally high discharge pressures. It is suited for residential and light commercial applications where Trane OEM pressure control components are required.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement high-pressure switch for Trane HVAC central air systems and accessories requiring a 405 psi open and 300 psi close pressure control switch.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician in accordance with local codes and EPA Section 608 refrigerant handling regulations. Recover refrigerant and depressurize the high-side circuit before removing the existing switch. Ensure the replacement switch is rated for the refrigerant type and pressure range in the system. Restore refrigerant charge and verify switch operation before returning the unit to service.
