The Trane A952V060BD3SA is a two-stage, variable-speed residential gas furnace built for dedicated downflow installation. Rated at 96 percent AFUE, it delivers 60,000 BTU/h input capacity while minimizing fuel consumption through staged combustion and a variable-speed ECM blower motor. The cabinet measures 17.5 inches wide, making it compatible with industry-standard coil and accessory dimensions. A 24-volt control circuit governs staging and blower operation. This furnace is installed by licensed HVAC technicians in applications where both efficiency and precise airflow control are priorities.
This unit is configured exclusively for downflow airflow — supply air discharges from the bottom of the cabinet. That orientation suits installations in main-floor mechanical closets or platforms where supply ductwork runs beneath the unit. Nominal airflow capacity is rated at 1,200 CFM, with setup options available down to lower CFM-per-ton settings. The open vestibule design, standing 34 inches high, provides ample access for heat exchanger inspection and service. Typical residential applications include forced-air central heating in single-family homes and light commercial spaces using similar ducted system configurations.
Designed as an OEM downflow gas furnace for residential forced-air heating systems. The 17.5-inch cabinet width is industry-standard and is designed to pair with compatible evaporator coil cabinets and accessories. Consult Trane system design documentation for approved coil and accessory pairings specific to this cabinet size and airflow rating.
Installation must be performed by a licensed HVAC technician in accordance with local codes, the National Fuel Gas Code (NFPA 54), and applicable IFGC requirements. Shut off gas supply and disconnect electrical power before servicing or replacing any components. This unit is configured for downflow only — do not attempt to convert airflow orientation. Verify that the existing duct system and platform or closet dimensions are sized appropriately for the 17.5-inch cabinet width and 34-inch vestibule height before beginning installation.
