The Trane A801X100CM5SA is a single-stage, multi-position induced-draft gas furnace rated at 100,000 BTU/h input capacity and 80% AFUE. It is designed for residential heating applications where dependable performance and installation flexibility are priorities. The multi-position design supports upflow, horizontal-left, horizontal-right, and downflow orientations, allowing installation in a range of mechanical room and closet configurations. Licensed HVAC technicians install this furnace as part of a split-system or packaged heating setup. The 80% AFUE rating means 80 cents of every fuel dollar is converted to usable heat.
This furnace is suited for medium to large residential buildings requiring a high-input heating source. Its single-stage gas valve delivers consistent heat output throughout each call for heat. The multi-positional cabinet makes it adaptable for basement, attic, closet, or crawlspace installations where duct routing and equipment orientation vary. A 24-volt control circuit interfaces with standard residential thermostat wiring and compatible air handler accessories.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation furnace for residential gas heating systems requiring an 80% AFUE, single-stage, multi-position induced-draft unit with a 100,000 BTU/h input rating.
Installation must be performed by a licensed HVAC technician in accordance with local mechanical codes and the manufacturer installation instructions. Shut off gas supply and disconnect electrical power before beginning any service or replacement work. Vent connections must comply with applicable fuel-gas codes, including proper sizing and material requirements for induced-draft appliances. Do not restore power or reopen gas valves until all connections have been inspected and verified leak-free.
