The Trane A801X080CM5SD is a single-stage, multi-positional natural gas furnace rated at 80,000 BTU/h input with 80% AFUE efficiency. It delivers approximately 64,700 BTU/h of usable heat output and moves up to 2,000 CFM of conditioned air using a multi-speed blower driven by a 1 HP motor. The integrated furnace control board features a digital display, built-in diagnostics with the last six errors stored, and all Molex connections for reliable field servicing. The 21-inch-wide cabinet fits industry-standard coil and accessory pairings. Licensed HVAC technicians handle installation and commissioning of this unit.
The A801X080CM5SD is designed for residential gas heating applications where a cost-effective, single-stage heating solution is required. Its multi-positional design supports upflow, downflow, horizontal left, and horizontal right installations, making it adaptable to a wide range of duct configurations including basement, closet, attic, and crawlspace mechanical rooms. The 21-inch cabinet width aligns with industry-standard rough-in dimensions, simplifying replacement installs in existing systems. This furnace is part of the RunTru by Trane RT Series lineup.
The A801X080CM5SD has been paired in system configurations with the A4HP4042D1 heat pump and 4MXCC009AC6HCB air handler coil, and with the A4AC3036D1 air conditioner in multi-positional combination systems. The 21-inch cabinet is compatible with industry-standard evaporator coils and accessories.
Installation must be performed by a licensed HVAC technician in accordance with local mechanical codes, the IFGC, and the manufacturer's installation instructions. Shut off all gas supply and electrical power to the system before beginning any service or installation work. The 24-volt control circuit requires proper low-voltage wiring connections; consult the integrated control board wiring diagram before energizing. Verify flue venting and combustion air requirements meet local code for the selected installation orientation.
