The Trane A801X060BM4SC is a single-stage, non-condensing gas furnace rated at 60,000 BTU/h input with 80% AFUE efficiency. It is designed for upflow, downflow, and horizontal left/right installations, giving installers flexibility across a wide range of residential applications. The unit features a 9-speed constant torque blower motor that handles airflow demands for both heating and cooling modes, switching speeds automatically between the two. An integrated furnace control board with a 7-segment LED display, built-in diagnostics, and storage of the last six fault codes simplifies commissioning and service calls. Licensed HVAC technicians are the primary installers for this product.
The A801X060BM4SC fits residential forced-air systems where a mid-efficiency 80% AFUE furnace is specified. Its 17.5-inch cabinet width is an industry-standard dimension, making it compatible with standard evaporator coil cabinets and common accessories. The open vestibule design stands 34 inches high, providing clear access to heat exchanger components and wiring during installation and service. The cabinet meets ASHRAE 193 air-leakage requirements at 1.4% or less. Models with a T in the 12th digit of the model number meet California NOx emissions requirements of less than 40 ng/J.
Designed as an OEM-style residential gas furnace for upflow, downflow, and horizontal left/right installations. Compatible with industry-standard evaporator coil cabinets sized for a 17.5-inch wide furnace cabinet.
Installation must be performed by a licensed HVAC technician in accordance with local mechanical codes and the applicable edition of the International Fuel Gas Code. Shut off gas supply and disconnect electrical power at the disconnect switch before servicing or connecting any components. The 34-inch open vestibule design allows full access to internal components, but always verify flue venting and combustion air requirements are met before startup. Do not alter the factory wiring harness or bypass any safety limit controls.
