The Trane A5PA3060A1000 is a single packaged cooling and electric heat unit designed for light commercial and residential applications requiring an all-in-one rooftop or ground-level installation. Rated at 58,500 BTU/h of cooling capacity, this 5-ton unit operates on 208-230 volt single-phase 60 Hz power and achieves a SEER2 rating of 13.4 and an EER2 of 10.6. It uses R-454B refrigerant, a lower-GWP alternative to R-410A. The indoor fan is driven by a constant torque ECM, delivering 1,700 CFM of airflow in a convertible configuration that supports downflow and horizontal duct arrangements. Licensed HVAC technicians install and commission this unit.
The A5PA3060A1000 is suited for residential and light commercial rooftop or slab installations where a self-contained packaged unit is preferred over a split system. The convertible airflow configuration — supporting both downflow and horizontal supply — gives installers flexibility to match existing duct layouts. The integrated electric heat strip eliminates the need for a separate air handler or furnace. This unit is part of the RunTru by Trane A5PA3 series, aimed at applications where reliable entry-level efficiency and simplified installation are priorities.
Designed as an OEM packaged unit in the RunTru by Trane A5PA3 series for downflow and horizontal duct applications operating on 208-230 volt single-phase electrical service.
Installation must be performed by a licensed HVAC technician holding the appropriate EPA Section 608 refrigerant handling certification. Disconnect and lock out all power before servicing electrical components. Duct connections, electrical whip sizing, and overcurrent protection must comply with local codes and the National Electrical Code. Verify that the supply circuit and disconnect are rated appropriately for the 60-amp power connection requirement before startup.
