The Trane A5PA3042A1000 is a single-packaged cooling and electric heat unit from the RunTru by Trane A5PA3 series, rated at 3.5 tons (42,000 BTU/h) of cooling capacity. It operates on 208-230 volt, single-phase, 60 Hz power and uses R-454B refrigerant, a lower global-warming-potential alternative to legacy refrigerants. The unit delivers a SEER2 rating of 13.4 and an EER2 of 10.6, meeting current minimum efficiency standards. A constant-torque ECM indoor fan motor provides 1,500 CFM of airflow at four selectable speeds. All cooling and electric heat functions are contained in one cabinet, making this a self-contained solution for light commercial and residential applications.
The A5PA3042A1000 is designed for downflow and horizontal discharge configurations, giving installers flexibility on rooftop curb or slab installations. It is suited for residential and light commercial buildings requiring a fully self-contained HVAC system where separate indoor and outdoor components are not practical. The convertible design supports multiple installation orientations, and the unit is compatible with the BAYDMPR101 and BAYDMPR102A 25 percent motorized outside air damper accessories for ventilation control. Licensed HVAC technicians handling commercial rooftop or ground-level packaged installations are the primary installers of this unit.

Installation must be performed by a licensed HVAC technician in accordance with applicable local mechanical codes and the manufacturer installation, operation, and maintenance manual. Disconnect and lock out all electrical power before servicing the unit. This system uses R-454B refrigerant, which requires EPA Section 608 certification and compatible recovery equipment. Verify curb or slab dimensions, electrical service sizing, and minimum branch circuit ampacity before final connection.
