Licensed HVAC technicians handle the installation and commissioning of this equipment.
This condenser is intended for residential ducted split-system installations where a single-stage, R-454B heat pump is specified. It is suited to applications requiring 4-ton nominal capacity with 208/230-volt single-phase power. The A5HP5048A1000 is part of the RunTru by Trane product family and is positioned for new construction and replacement projects where current refrigerant regulations favor low-GWP refrigerants such as R-454B. It delivers year-round heating and cooling performance in a single outdoor unit footprint.
Designed as an OEM split-system heat pump condenser within the RunTru by Trane A5HP5 product family, intended for use with a compatible ducted indoor air handler or coil section in a residential split-system application.
Installation must be performed by a licensed HVAC technician holding appropriate EPA Section 608 refrigerant handling certification, as R-454B is a mildly flammable A2L refrigerant requiring compliant equipment and procedures. Disconnect and lock out all electrical power before servicing the unit. Follow all applicable local mechanical and electrical codes, including NEC requirements for outdoor disconnect and branch circuit sizing based on the rated load amperage. Do not mix refrigerants or recharge with any refrigerant other than R-454B as specified on the unit nameplate.
