The Trane A5HP5018A1000 is a 1.5-ton single-stage split system heat pump condenser rated at 15.2 SEER2 and designed for residential ducted applications. Operating on R-454B refrigerant and powered by a 208/230V single-phase 60 Hz supply, this outdoor unit provides both heating and cooling through a paired air handler or coil cabinet. Running load amps are 7.8 A with a locked rotor amp rating of 47.5 A. Licensed HVAC technicians install and commission this unit as part of a matched split system assembly.
The A5HP5018A1000 is intended for residential split system installations where a 1.5-ton heat pump solution is required. It is rated under AHRI Standard 270-2008 for sound power, with an A-weighted sound power level of 75 dB(A). The unit carries a nominal capacity of 18,000 BTU/h and is suited for single-zone ducted systems in light residential construction. No factory-installed start components or compressor heat are included in the base configuration.
Designed for use in matched residential split system heat pump configurations on the RunTru by Trane and Ameristar by American Standard platforms. Specific matched indoor coil and air handler pairings must be confirmed against current AHRI certified system combinations to ensure rated efficiency performance.
Installation must be performed by a licensed HVAC technician in accordance with local mechanical codes and the current edition of applicable national standards. Disconnect and lock out all electrical power before servicing or making refrigerant connections. Because this unit uses R-454B, technicians must use dedicated tools and recovery equipment rated for A2L refrigerants and follow all applicable safety requirements for mildly flammable refrigerants. Verify that the indoor coil and air handler are listed in a certified matched system combination before startup.
