The Trane A5HP4060A1000 is a 5-ton, single-stage split system heat pump condensing unit rated at 60,000 BTU/h with a 14.3 SEER2 efficiency rating. It operates on R-454B refrigerant, a lower global warming potential alternative to legacy refrigerants. The unit delivers both heating and cooling through a single outdoor condensing unit and is designed for residential applications. Sound power is rated at 72 dB(A), making it suitable for noise-sensitive installs. Licensed HVAC technicians handle installation, pairing this outdoor unit with a compatible indoor air handler and TXV or EEV metering device as required by AHRI rating conditions.
The A5HP4060A1000 is intended for residential split system installations where a single outdoor unit handles year-round heating and cooling loads. The unit carries a cooling operating range of 55 degrees F to 120 degrees F outdoor ambient, with low ambient cooling capability down to 20 degrees F. Compatible indoor air handlers include the A5AHC series, which can be installed in closets, utility rooms, alcoves, basements, crawlspaces, or attics. The outdoor unit ships factory charged for the condensing unit, 10 feet of tested connecting line, and the smallest rated indoor evaporative coil match.
Designed for use in split system configurations with compatible indoor air handlers, including the A5AHC series. All manufacturer split systems are AHRI rated only with TXV or EEV metering devices. Verify indoor coil match and metering device compatibility before installation using current AHRI certificate data.
Installation must be performed by a licensed HVAC technician and must comply with all national, state, and local codes, including applicable sections of the International Mechanical Code and EPA Section 608 refrigerant handling requirements. Disconnect and lock out all electrical power to the system before beginning any service or installation work. The outdoor unit must be set on a level pad with adequate clearance on all sides per the manufacturer installation and operation manual. Field refrigerant line connections are brazed; use nitrogen purge during brazing to prevent oxidation inside the line set.
