The Trane A5HP4024A1000 is a 2-ton, single-stage heat pump condenser rated at 24,000 BTU/h with a 14.3 SEER2 efficiency rating and 7.5 HSPF2, operating on R-454B refrigerant. Designed for the RunTru by Trane product line, this outdoor condensing unit delivers both heating and cooling from a single system. It runs on a 200-230V/1-phase/60Hz power supply and uses a PSC blower motor with a 23-inch blower diameter. The unit ships factory-charged for the outdoor condenser, 10 feet of connecting line, and the smallest rated indoor evaporative coil match. Licensed HVAC technicians handle installation and commissioning.
This condenser is intended for residential split-system applications where a single-stage heat pump is specified. Typical install locations for the matched indoor air handler include closets, utility rooms, alcoves, basements, crawlspaces, and attics. The A5AHC series air handler is the designed companion indoor unit. The system is factory set with a subcooling charging specification of 12 degrees F, which guides refrigerant charge verification at startup. The unit is rated for standard residential outdoor ambient operating conditions common in moderate climate zones.
Designed for use with the A5AHC series air handler. The outdoor unit is factory charged to match the smallest rated indoor evaporative coil in the RunTru by Trane split-system lineup. Consult Trane equipment selection guides to confirm matched indoor coil and air handler compatibility before installation.
Installation must be performed by a licensed HVAC technician holding an EPA Section 608 certification, as this unit contains R-454B refrigerant. Disconnect and lock out all electrical power before servicing the unit. All installation phases must comply with national, state, and local codes as noted in the A5HP4 installation and operation manual supplied with the unit. Do not operate the system without verifying refrigerant charge against the 12 degrees F subcooling specification using calibrated gauges and thermometers.
