The Trane A5AC5030A1000 is a single-stage outdoor condensing unit from the RunTru by Trane product line, delivering 30,000 BTU/h (2.5 tons) of cooling capacity with a 15.2 SEER2 efficiency rating. It operates on R-454B refrigerant, which has a lower global warming potential than legacy R-410A systems, and runs on a standard 208-230/1/60 electrical configuration with 24-volt system control. The unit features an all-aluminum coil construction for corrosion resistance and durability. Licensed HVAC technicians install this unit as the outdoor half of a ducted split system, pairing it with a compatible indoor air handler or evaporator coil to complete the refrigerant circuit.
This condenser is designed for residential ducted central cooling applications. It is factory charged with the refrigerant required for the outdoor unit, 10 feet of tested connecting line, and the smallest rated indoor evaporative coil match, making field charge verification straightforward on standard line set lengths. It is suited for single-family homes and light residential installations where a 2.5-ton cooling load is appropriate. Compatible air handlers include the A5AHC003A1B30A convertible air handler and the A5AHV002A1B30A variable-speed air handler, both rated for R-454B and 208-230/1/60 operation.
Confirmed compatible indoor units include the A5AHC003A1B30A convertible air handler and the A5AHV002A1B30A variable-speed air handler, both configured for R-454B refrigerant and 208-230/1/60 power. Both handlers feature all-aluminum plate fin coils and 4-way poise convertible configurations. This outdoor unit is part of the RunTru by Trane split system lineup designed for ducted residential cooling.
Installation must be performed by an EPA 608-certified HVAC technician familiar with R-454B mildly flammable refrigerant handling procedures. Disconnect and lock out all electrical power at both the indoor and outdoor disconnects before any service work. Refrigerant line sets beyond 10 feet may require a field charge adjustment per the manufacturer installation manual. All electrical connections must comply with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local codes.
