The TRANE YSC048G3RLB1NL2 is a packaged gas/electric rooftop unit (RTU) rated at 4 tons of nominal gross cooling capacity. It combines direct-expansion (DX) cooling with gas heat in a single rooftop cabinet, delivering both heating and cooling from one self-contained assembly. Designed for commercial rooftop installations, this unit operates on 208/230V three-phase power. Licensed HVAC technicians handle installation, startup, and commissioning. The gas/electric configuration eliminates the need for separate indoor heating equipment, simplifying mechanical room layouts and reducing overall system complexity.
This RTU is suited for light commercial applications such as retail, office, and small industrial buildings requiring a single rooftop assembly for year-round climate control. The three-phase electrical supply makes it appropriate for commercial construction where three-phase power is standard. Rooftop curb mounting allows straightforward integration with existing ductwork penetrations. It is intended for installations where a combined gas heat and DX cooling solution is specified by the mechanical engineer or equipment schedule.
Designed as an OEM rooftop unit for light commercial gas/electric packaged system applications requiring 4-ton cooling capacity and 208/230V three-phase power.
Installation must be performed by a licensed HVAC contractor familiar with commercial rooftop equipment and local mechanical and gas codes. Disconnect all electrical power and shut off the gas supply before performing any service or wiring connections. The unit requires a properly sized roof curb; verify curb dimensions and ductwork alignment before setting the unit. Refrigerant handling requires EPA Section 608 certification.
