The TRANE YHJ072A3S0M1ASQ is a commercial packaged rooftop unit (RTU) combining gas-electric heating and cooling in a single self-contained cabinet designed for rooftop installation. Rated at 6 nominal tons of cooling capacity, this gas-pack unit operates on 208/230V three-phase power, making it suited for light commercial and commercial applications where a single-unit HVAC solution is required. The YHJ072A3S0M1ASQ delivers both conditioned air and gas-fired heating through one rooftop-mounted assembly, simplifying mechanical room requirements and reducing installation complexity on eligible structures.
This unit is intended for commercial rooftop applications where three-phase electrical service is available. Typical installations include retail buildings, light industrial facilities, offices, and similar structures requiring packaged cooling and gas heating from a single rooftop cabinet. The gas-electric configuration eliminates the need for a separate furnace or air handler, consolidating heating and cooling into one serviceable package. Installation and commissioning are performed by licensed HVAC contractors with commercial RTU experience.
Designed as an OEM packaged rooftop gas-electric unit for commercial three-phase applications. Consult unit submittals and curb specifications to confirm structural, electrical, and gas-supply compatibility before installation.
Installation must be performed by a licensed HVAC contractor in accordance with local mechanical codes, the National Electrical Code (NEC), and the International Fuel Gas Code (IFGC). Disconnect and lock out all electrical power and shut off the gas supply before performing any service or wiring work. Verify that the roof curb dimensions, structural load rating, and gas line sizing match the unit requirements prior to setting the cabinet. Refrigerant work on R-410A systems requires EPA Section 608 certification.
