The TRANE YHC060F4RXA1L46 is a commercial packaged rooftop unit (RTU) configured as a gas pack, combining direct-expansion (DX) cooling with gas heat in a single self-contained cabinet. Rated at 5 tons (60 MBh) of nominal gross cooling capacity, this unit operates on 460V three-phase power, making it suited to light commercial and mid-size commercial applications. Licensed HVAC mechanics and commercial HVAC contractors are the typical installing trade for this class of equipment.
This unit is designed for rooftop installation in commercial buildings requiring a single-source heating and cooling solution. The gas-pack configuration eliminates the need for a separate furnace or air handler, consolidating the refrigeration circuit, heat exchanger, and supply and return air sections into one cabinet. Typical applications include retail spaces, office suites, light industrial facilities, and similar commercial occupancies where rooftop installation is the preferred mechanical layout.
Designed as a commercial packaged rooftop gas-pack unit; consult Trane model number documentation and submittal data to confirm curb, ductwork, and electrical compatibility with the specific installation before ordering.
Installation must be performed by a licensed HVAC contractor familiar with commercial rooftop equipment and applicable local mechanical and electrical codes, including ASHRAE and NEC requirements. Disconnect and lock out all electrical power at the main disconnect before any service or installation work begins, and shut off the gas supply at the upstream isolation valve before connecting or servicing the heating section. Roof curb dimensions and duct connections must be verified against the unit submittal drawings prior to setting the unit. Refrigerant work must be performed by an EPA Section 608 certified technician.
