The TRANE YHC037E3RLA4118 is a commercial packaged rooftop unit (RTU) that combines direct-expansion (DX) cooling with gas heat in a single self-contained cabinet. Rated at a nominal 3 tons (36 MBh) of gross cooling capacity, this gas-electric pack is designed for rooftop installation on light commercial buildings. It operates on a 208/230-volt, 3-phase power supply and uses R-410A refrigerant. Licensed commercial HVAC technicians are the primary installers. The compact, all-in-one design simplifies electrical and gas rough-in by consolidating both heating and cooling into one curb-mounted cabinet.
This unit is suited for light commercial rooftop applications where a single cabinet must deliver both heating and cooling. Typical installations include retail spaces, small office buildings, and light industrial facilities requiring a self-contained gas-electric system. The 3-ton cooling capacity targets smaller zone loads on commercial structures. The 3-phase power requirement makes it appropriate for buildings with commercial electrical service. Installation is performed by licensed commercial HVAC contractors familiar with rooftop curb mounting, gas piping, and 3-phase electrical connection.
Designed as a commercial gas-electric packaged rooftop unit intended for curb-mount installation on light commercial structures with 208/230-volt, 3-phase electrical service and natural gas supply.
Installation must be performed by a licensed commercial HVAC contractor. Shut off all electrical power at the disconnect and close the gas supply valve before servicing or replacing the unit. The unit must be set on an approved rooftop curb that matches the cabinet footprint, and all gas piping must be completed in accordance with the IFGC and local codes. Electrical connections must comply with the NEC and the unit nameplate ratings.
