The TRANE GCC102A3EHB3YXA is a commercial-grade gas/electric packaged rooftop unit (RTU) rated at 8.5 tons of cooling capacity with a 14 SEER efficiency rating. It delivers combined heating and cooling from a single rooftop-mounted cabinet, eliminating the need for separate indoor heating equipment. Operating on 208/230V three-phase power, this unit is built for light commercial installations where space, reliability, and consolidated mechanical systems are priorities. Licensed commercial HVAC contractors are the intended installing trade for this class of equipment.
This RTU is suited for light commercial applications such as retail spaces, offices, and small warehouses where a single rooftop package handles both gas heating and direct-expansion cooling. The three-phase electrical supply requirement places it in facilities with commercial power service. Its gas/electric configuration means heating is provided by an integral gas furnace section while cooling is handled by the refrigerant circuit, making it a self-contained climate control solution for rooftop curb-mount installations.
Designed as an OEM gas/electric packaged rooftop unit for light commercial curb-mount installations requiring 8.5-ton, three-phase equipment.
Installation must be performed by a licensed commercial HVAC contractor in accordance with local mechanical codes and the manufacturer installation instructions. Disconnect and lock out all electrical power and shut off the gas supply before servicing or making any connections. The unit requires a properly sized roof curb; verify curb dimensions and structural load ratings before placement. Refrigerant work must be performed by an EPA Section 608 certified technician.
