The TRADEPRO tp-cap-45/440-a is a single-run capacitor rated at 45 microfarads (MFD) and 440 VAC, housed in an oval case. Run capacitors maintain a continuous phase-shifted current to the run winding of single-phase motors in HVAC equipment, keeping the motor operating at rated efficiency throughout the run cycle. This unit carries UL and CSA recognition and is protected to 10,000 AFC. It meets EIA-456-A electrical standards and undergoes individual electrical testing before leaving the factory. HVAC technicians install this capacitor during routine maintenance, troubleshooting, or motor replacement on residential and light commercial cooling and refrigeration systems.
This capacitor is suited for single-phase PSC motors found in condensing unit fan motors and compressors where a 45 MFD, 440 VAC oval-style capacitor is specified. The oval form factor is a common footprint in residential split-system condensers and packaged units. It is installed by licensed HVAC technicians performing capacitor replacements on systems where the original oval-style run capacitor has failed or drifted outside acceptable MFD tolerance.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement for single-phase PSC motor applications requiring a 45 MFD, 440 VAC oval run capacitor in residential and light commercial HVAC condensing units.
Run capacitor replacement is performed by licensed HVAC technicians. Always disconnect and lock out power at the disconnect box before accessing the capacitor compartment, and discharge the capacitor fully before handling — a charged capacitor can retain lethal voltage even with power removed. Verify the replacement MFD rating and voltage rating match the failed unit before installation; voltage rating must meet or exceed the original specification. Follow applicable NEC and local electrical code requirements when servicing capacitors in outdoor condensing units.
