It uses a coiled capillary temperature sensor to detect ambient conditions and actuates a snap-acting switch to control heating equipment. The control range spans 40 to 110 degrees F, making it well suited for unit heaters, duct heaters, and similar forced-air or radiant heating systems. The thermostat operates across a wide voltage range of 125 to 277 volts and is rated for 22 amps, giving it the capacity to directly switch most industrial heating loads without an intermediate relay in many installations.
This thermostat is intended for industrial and light commercial environments where a rugged, reliable heat-only control is required. Typical applications include warehouses, manufacturing facilities, garages, and utility spaces where heating equipment must be cycled based on space temperature. The coiled capillary sensor allows the sensing element to be positioned at a distance from the switch body, providing accurate temperature sampling in locations where direct-mount sensing is impractical. Licensed HVAC technicians and industrial electricians are the primary installers of this device.

Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician or qualified electrician in accordance with the NEC and applicable local codes. Disconnect and lock out all power to the heating circuit before removing the existing thermostat or making any wiring connections. Mount the thermostat body and route the capillary sensor to a representative location in the controlled space, avoiding direct heat sources, drafts, or surfaces that may cause false readings. Do not kink or sharply bend the capillary tube during installation.
