The TP-LINK eap660 hd is a Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) dual band ceiling-mount access point built for high-density wireless deployments. It delivers combined wireless throughput up to 3550 Mbps, with 2402 Mbps on the 5 GHz band and 1148 Mbps on the 2.4 GHz band. Eight spatial streams, OFDMA, and uplink and downlink MU-MIMO increase network capacity by up to four times compared to Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac). A 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet PoE+ port provides multi-gigabit wired uplink and supports flexible deployment using standard 802.3at PoE+ infrastructure. Network administrators and IT professionals install this unit in commercial and hospitality environments where simultaneous high-device-count connectivity is required.
The eap660 hd is designed for high-density commercial settings including restaurants, shopping malls, meeting rooms, hotel lobbies, and transit facilities where a large number of client devices connect simultaneously. It is part of the Omada Software Defined Networking platform, which allows centralized cloud management of access points, switches, and gateways across multiple sites from a single interface. Features like Band Steering, Load Balance, Airtime Fairness, and 802.11k/v seamless roaming make it well suited for environments running latency-sensitive applications such as VoIP and video conferencing.
Designed for deployment within the Omada SDN ecosystem alongside compatible Omada switches and gateways. Supports standard 802.3at PoE+ power delivery from compatible network switches or injectors.
Installation is performed by qualified network technicians or IT professionals. Power down or disconnect the PoE source before making or changing wired connections. The unit mounts to a ceiling using a push-and-rotate locking mechanism; ensure the mounting surface can support the fixture. Follow local electrical and building codes when running cabling through walls or ceiling plenums.
