The TOTALINE p540-2254 is a universal thermostatic expansion valve (TXV) kit designed to regulate refrigerant flow in 2.5- to 4-ton residential air-conditioning and heat-pump systems. Compatible with R-22 and R-407C refrigerants, it features balance-ported construction for stable operation across varying system loads. A built-in check valve handles reverse refrigerant flow during heat-pump operation. Externally adjustable superheat allows field technicians to match fixed-superheat OEM specifications without removing the valve body. The kit ships with multiple connection options and 35 inches of foam insulating tape for field installation.
This valve is suited for residential split systems and heat pumps operating on R-22 or R-407C refrigerant within the 2.5- to 4-ton capacity range. The external equalizer design compensates for distributor or coil pressure drop, making it appropriate for both replacement and retrofit installations on copper and aluminum evaporator coils. The ODF end connections integrate directly with standard refrigerant line sets used in residential HVAC work.
