The TOTALINE p504-h163s is a bi-directional liquid line filter drier rated at 16 cubic inches with 3/8-inch ODF copper sweat connections. Designed for installation in the liquid line of split-system and package refrigeration equipment, it removes moisture, acid, and particulate contamination from the refrigerant circuit. The bi-directional (Bi-Flo) design allows refrigerant flow in either direction, making it well-suited for heat pump systems that reverse refrigerant flow during heating and cooling cycles. Licensed HVAC technicians install this drier as part of routine system service or after a compressor burnout cleanup procedure.
This filter drier is rated for use with R-407C refrigerant and is compatible with residential and light-commercial heat pump and air conditioning systems where a liquid line drier with copper sweat (C x C) connections is specified. Its compact form factor — 6.5 inches long and 1.5 inches in diameter — allows installation in tight equipment compartments. It is an appropriate choice for new installations and for replacement service on systems requiring a bi-directional liquid line drier of equivalent cubic inch capacity.
Rated for R-407C refrigerant. Designed as an OEM-style liquid line filter drier replacement for heat pump and air conditioning systems requiring a bi-directional 16 cubic inch drier with 3/8-inch ODF copper sweat connections.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician in accordance with applicable mechanical codes and EPA Section 608 refrigerant handling regulations. Recover all system refrigerant and verify the system is de-energized before cutting or unbrazing any line connections. When brazing copper sweat connections, flow dry nitrogen through the line set to prevent internal oxidation scale. Replace the filter drier any time the system is opened to atmosphere, and always install with the flow arrow oriented correctly — or, for this bi-directional model, confirm that bi-directional flow is appropriate for the application before placing the drier in service.
