The TOTALINE p257-flexpsc41 is an electronically commutated motor (ECM) designed to replace or upgrade standard PSC blower motors in residential furnace and air-handler applications. Rated at 3/4 to 1 HP with a 1,075 RPM operating speed, it runs on dual voltage: 115 VAC or 208-230 VAC single phase at 50/60 Hz. The ECM design delivers approximately 82% efficiency compared to roughly 60% for a standard PSC motor, reducing energy consumption during continuous blower operation. A licensed HVAC technician handles installation. The motor carries UL Listed, UL Recognized, and CSA Listed approvals and is built to a 10-plus-year design life under proper installation conditions.
The p257-flexpsc41 connects directly to standard PSC furnace and air-handler control boards without additional interface modules, making it a practical field upgrade or drop-in replacement across a wide range of direct-drive blower applications. It supports constant airflow operation, which improves air filtration performance and enables additional indoor air quality (IAQ) accessories. More consistent airflow also reduces room-to-room temperature variation. Two multi-HP models are available in this series, giving service technicians flexibility across different unit capacities. The motor fits 48Y frame mounting positions and accepts a mounting bracket or any standard 48 frame mount.
Designed as a direct-connect ECM replacement for standard PSC furnace and air-handler control boards across a wide variety of direct-drive blower motor applications using 48Y frame or standard 48 frame mounting.
Installation must be performed by a licensed HVAC technician. Disconnect and lock out all electrical power to the air handler or furnace before removing the existing blower motor. Verify that the supply voltage matches the motor's selected voltage tap before energizing. Confirm shaft rotation direction prior to final startup and follow all applicable local codes and NEC requirements for motor replacement work.
