The TOTALINE p257-flexpsc40 is an electronically commutated motor (ECM) designed to replace standard PSC blower motors in residential forced-air systems. Rated from 1/4 HP to 1/2 HP at 1,075 RPM, this motor connects directly to standard PSC furnace and air-handler control boards without requiring additional interface modules. Operating on either 115 VAC or 208-230 VAC single-phase power at 50/60 Hz, it suits a wide range of job-site voltage conditions. The ECM design delivers 82 percent efficiency compared to approximately 60 percent for a standard PSC motor, reducing runtime energy draw on direct-drive blower applications. Ball bearings and a NEMA 48Y frame are standard.
This motor is suited for residential furnace and air-handler direct-drive blower applications where a PSC motor is being upgraded or replaced. It is a fit for systems using standard 48-frame motor mounts or a mounting bracket, making it applicable across a broad range of equipment configurations. Five operating speeds allow the installer to match airflow to system requirements. The upgrade path to constant airflow operation supports improved air filtration performance, additional IAQ equipment integration, and more consistent room-to-room temperatures. HVAC technicians performing equipment upgrades or warranty replacements will find this motor a straightforward drop-in on compatible platforms.
Connects directly to standard PSC furnace and air-handler control boards. Fits a wide variety of direct-drive blower motor applications using any 48-frame mount or mounting bracket. Verify existing motor frame, shaft diameter, rotation, and voltage before installation.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician. Disconnect and lock out all power to the air handler or furnace before removing the existing motor. Confirm supply voltage, shaft diameter, rotation direction, and speed-tap wiring match system requirements before energizing. Follow all applicable local codes and manufacturer wiring diagrams; NEC low-voltage and motor-circuit requirements apply.
